BOIL WATER ADVISORY
TOWN OF PEARL RIVER
June 25, 2022

The Town of Pearl River has experienced problems with our water supply system.

Due to a break in a main water line located on Pine Street, as a precautionary measure, the Town of Pearl River has issued a Boil Water Advisory for all residents located on Pine Street, North Church Street, Maple Street, Spur Hwy 41 (houses before the bridge by the Sheriif’s Complex) Bancks Street, Gum Street, Mitchell Street, Williams Street, Calhoun Street, Jerry Street, Susan Street, Patricia Street, Ann Street and Holmes Street that receive water from the Town of Pearl River. The water line is repaired now. Because of the water line break, the water produced by our water supply system is of questionable microbiological quality.

Therefore, out of an abundance of precaution, the Town of Pearl River Water System has issued a BOIL WATER ADVISORY effective immediately. This BOIL WATER ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Town of Pearl River Water System. It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of food by the following means: Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute will start after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)Again, please be sure to disinfect your own water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise. The Town of Pearl River Water System will rescind this Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals- Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe. Thank you.
