Boil Water Advisory

The Town of Pearl River has experienced problems with our water supply system.

Due to a break in the water line at 64648 Highway 41 as a precautionary measure the Town of Pearl River has issued a Boil Water Advisory for local businesses on Hwy 41 heading north past the 64648 Hwy 41 address, Magnolia Ridge Loop Subdivision, Pearl River Trace Subdivision, Windsong Subdivision, Sawmill Creek Subdivision, Sullivan Place Subdivision and all houses located on Hwy 41 Spur that is connected to the Town water. The water line is being repaired now.

Because of the water line break, the water produced by our water supply system is of questionable microbiological quality.

Therefore, out of an abundance of precaution, the Town of Pearl River Water System has issued a BOIL WATER ADVISORY effective immediately. This BOIL WATER ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Town of Pearl River Water System.

It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of food by the following means:

Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute will start after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.  (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)

Again, please be sure to disinfect your own water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise.

The Town of  Pearl River Water System will rescind this Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals- Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe.
